The modern PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) digital revolution appears to offer significant savings in terms of variable costs.
Nevertheless, the filmless technology is a real advantage if there is the ability to extract the PACS information and burn it onto CDs or DVDs containing imaging studies for referring physicians, patients, review in the operating room, conferences, and research collaborations.
In addition, CDs are efficient storage media for clinics and small imaging centres that do not archive images on a PACS.

EMEA DICOMBurner solution is intended as a mean to produce digital media containing medical images, to be provided to patients in substitution of the traditional film hard copies of the exams. Also the produced media can be used to exchange DICOM images between non-connected PACS or DICOM workstations.

EMEA DICOMBurner solution allows connecting a common Windows-based PC to a DICOM network and handling the storage and query/retrieve requests coming from DICOM-compliant devices: it receives, sends and retrieves DICOM files through the DICOM network, acting as a DICOM Storage and Query/Retrieve SCU and SCP.

EMEA DICOMBurner solution allows obtaining one or more CDs or DVDs containing the DICOM files related to selected patients, studies or series, by JUST ONE CLICK. If coupled with a CD/DVD production unit, it also supports completely automated media production and surface printing. The label printed on the surface of the CD/DVD is completely customizable, and may also include dynamic fields extracted directly from the DICOM data set (Patient ID, Patient Name, Study Description, Study Date, Institution Name, etc.).
